Discover "better" for yourself

Alinta Energy is a 2024 Circle Back Initiative Employer - we commit to respond to every applicant. Each candidate will be reviewed by our experienced Talent Acquisition Team, and you will be notified, either by email or phone with the outcome of your application.

Our recruitment process varies by role, but here's a general overview of the steps:

1
You submit your application together with your CV.

Your application is our first impression of you, so it's important to make it a good one! Put your relevant experience on the first page. A three-page CV is ideal, saved as a .doc, .docx or .pdf so we can open it easily.

2
We'll call you for a pre-interview chat.

If your skills and experience match the requirements of the position, we'll reach out to arrange a discussion before progressing you through to an interview. We will want to learn more about you and give you a chance to learn more about us and the role to ensure alignment.

3
We'll schedule a formal interview.

Interviews will be held at one of our offices or online using Microsoft Teams. This is your first opportunity to connect with the hiring leader, who will be interested to learn more about you and your relevant career experience, your motivation for the role and also ask you some behavioural based interview questions. If your application progresses to this stage, a Talent Acquisition Specialist will always call you to ensure you are well prepared!

Some tips:

  • Presentation is important, corporate business attire is best but if you are unsure please contact your TA Specialist.
  • Be on time. If you can't make it, cancel or reschedule as soon as you can.
  • Be yourself. Alinta Energy is a friendly, inclusive and supportive workplace. We want to get to know the real you.

Depending on the role, we will normally conduct second round interviews, either as an informal chat with a manager/stakeholder or as a formal interview with a case study.

4
Employment reference and background checks.

We'll need two professional references from previous managers and proof of your right to work in Australia. We may also do background checks, such as a police check, medical check, financial check or academic qualifications check, depending on the role.

5
Offer.

Once you have passed our background checking process we will call you with the good news and confirm your start date, and then send through the formal offer.
